recordMydesktop is a free Linux application that allows you to capture data from a Linux desktop session. The program is separated in two parts; a simple command line tool that performs the basic tasks ofcapturing and encoding and an interface that exposes the program functionality in a usable way.
You can change the sound and audio quality, frame captured per second, mouse cursor style, compression and whether to record the current window or the entire desktop. Ubuntu users can install recordMyDesktop and gtk-recordMyDesktop with:
sudo apt-get install recordmydesktop gtk-recordmydesktop
While the rest of Linux users can get the appropriate package in their distro’s repositories or at the project homepage.
