In this post, I will explain how to create apache virtual host.

Virtual host is apache feature to allow us to make our website with it own domain in our computer . So we can access our website through “real” url. yes !!

so , we will make a virtual host for www.yourname.com domain. you can use .org – .com – .net …etc

mmmmm…… next steps

1 // open your terminal .. and return

If you installing lampp in /opt you need, you must be root  to edit /opt/lampp/etc/httpd.conf file. ok

2 // Use

sudo gedit /opt/lampp/etc/httpd.conf

3 // And add this line in the last file:

include /home/username/website/extra-httpd.conf

save and close ok……

4 // now..

Open your text editor

And add these lines

<VirtualHost 127.0.2.1>
ServerName www.yourname.com
DocumentRoot /home/username/website/www.yourname.com

<Directory /home/username/website/www.yourname.com>
AllowOverride All
Options All
</Directory>
</VirtualHost>

Save this file as extra-httpd.conf in /home/username/website, as we define in httpd.conf file. ok

5 // add host :

Then, we must add the IP address we use above to /etc/hosts file.

add : ip > 127.0.2.1 and domain www.yourname.com

6 // if you have ubuntu

Go to System >> Administration >> Network.
Change to the tab to Hosts, and  click Add,  enter the IP address and the server name.

How to install and setting up LAMPP/XAMPP In Linux

1 // The commands in this HOWTO must be entered in the terminal:

Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal

2 // Download XAMPP to your Home :

wget http://ovh.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/xampp/xampp-linux-1.7.tar.gz

3 // And extract the files :

4 // Create a XAMPP start menu entry:

XAMPP uses /opt/lampp/htdocs as the root web directory, but you can publish pages in your home directory this way.

mkdir public_html


sudo ln -s ~/public_html /opt/lampp/htdocs/$USER

Now any files and folders you place in ~/public_html will be
published to your personal webserver.

Cairo Dock + linux and ubuntu

Turn a folder into an .iso

Generate an MD5 checksum file

md5sum file.iso > file.iso.md5

I’m gonna share to you some cool and easy way to break your Winrar Password Package in Ubuntu. You can use this method in case you forget your Winrar Password or kind like that. Ok, let’s get started.

First, you must know that software that will perform the RAR Package Crack, the software name is “RarCrack”. And this is the method to download and install RARCRACK. You can download the latest version (0.2) from this website .

Or simply follow this simple tutorial to perform the installation.

First, download the rarcrack 0.2 by pasting this following code:

wget http://superb-east.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/rarcrack/rarcrack-0.2.tar.bz2

Extract the RarCrack

tar xvjf rarcrack-0.2.tar.bz2

Get into the RarCrack Folder

cd rarcrack-0.2

install some needed dependencies by typing this following code:

sudo apt-get install libxml2-dev

Install the RarCrack

make ; sudo make install

Alright! That’s the end of RarCrack Installation. Ok, that’s not entirely true, there’s one of the most important part that you forget, the cracking part . To crack or break the RAR Package Password, type in terminal:

rarcrack /home/UserName/example.rar

Just simply put your .rar directory and perhaps if it’s not working try to rename your rar file, it probably will help.

This software is also works for other Package (zip and 7z), just simply replace .rar into .zip or .7z in case you must break zip or 7z passwd.

Upgrading ubuntu Using the Alternate CD or Network (8.04 -> 8.10)

Upgrading from Ubuntu 8.04 to Ubuntu 8.10 desktop can be very simple, and can be managed by the integrated update-manager tool.  Here I’ll outline a method for upgrading in just a few easy steps.  Before you dive into the upgrade there are a few things to verify:

1. Be sure that you’ve applied all available updates to your current system.
2. You should also read the Ubuntu 8.10 “Intrepid” release notes, to be aware of any known issues and workarounds.

After you’ve completed the two preparation steps you’re ready to move on to the upgrade.  One thing to keep in mind at this point is that this will use the network to complete the upgrade.  If you’re doing this on release day it may be slow due to the heavy load on the servers.  You may try alternate mirror locations for improved speeds.

To begin the upgrade use the key combination “ALT-F2″ within your Gnome Desktop to launch the run-dialog.  Within that entry dialog enter:

update-manager -d


Click the “Check” button.  If there are any remaining updates to Ubuntu 8.04 you’ll be prompted to install those.  Once all updates are applied you will see a new dialog notifying you that a new release is available.  Click “Upgrade” to begin the upgrade process.

Simply follow the prompts and you’re done.  This process will download the updates needed, notify you of what will be installed, upgraded or removed and allow you to cancel or continue when you’re ready.  Enjoy!

Or using CD’s

Continuing the series on upgrading Ubuntu to 8.10 “Intrepid” today I’ll outline using a downloaded CD for the upgrade.  If you already have the CD downloaded there is no need to use one of the previous methods and use your bandwidth.  You already have the packages available on the CD, and you can use that as a source.

What you’ll need to do is insert your 8.10 “Intrepid” CD into the machine to be upgraded.  You should recieve a graphical notification that a new version is available and the upgrade process should begin.

If for whatever reason this process does not start automagically you can manually begin the process with the following:

gksu "sh /cdrom/cdromupgrade"

If you are a Kubuntu user you can begin the process with this command:

kdesu "sh /cdrom/cdromupgrade"
